1. Follow directions for Controversial Cream Scones up to the part where you pat out a circle with the dough. Instead of cutting out biscuit shapes with a cutter, you cut the round of dough into 8ths like cutting a cake without actually cutting through completely and leaving the circle intact. In this way it will be easy to remove the cone shapes after baking.
2. Bake the same way as for the controversial scones. Let cool for 10 minutes and then remove the round to cool completely on a wire rack.
3. When cooled you can now separate the cones by slicing or carefully breaking apart.
4. Serve with a “scoop” of whipped or clotted cream and berries if desired. And why not maybe even with real ice-cream!
