Spicy Hot Apple Punch


(continued from first page)…although if you want to give it an extra “punch” you can add a little rum. It’s sure to bring cheer and warm you up on any cold day. Perfect for the holidays too!

INGREDIENTS (2-4 servings)

1/2 L (2 cups) unsweetened (not concentrate) apple juice
1/2 cup water
1-2 tbsp. honey
6-8 cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
1 small cut up piece of ginger root
2 slices of peeled grapefruit (or orange)
3-4 slices organic lemon
a few pieces of lemon peel (organic)
one sliced organic apple

optional 1/4 cup rum

PROCEDURE: Place all ingredients except the apple into a medium saucepan and simmer slowly for 15 minutes. Strain into a punch bowl or glass jug. Float slices of apple on top. Pour into glass mugs. Best served hot even though warm or cold is still good.


Small apple cutouts using your cookie cutters look decorative.
